Omega Balance & Fatty Acid Profile at Home

€ 109,00

Measure your complete red-blood-cell fatty-acid profile, including the Omega-3 Index, EPA, DHA, omega-6/omega-3 balance and AA/EPA ratio. RBC testing reflects longer-term membrane fatty-acid status rather than only your most recent meal.

Understand Your Omega and Fatty-Acid Balance

Measure the fatty acids incorporated into your red-blood-cell membranes, including
EPA, DHA, the Omega-3 Index and important omega-3 and omega-6 ratios.

The included Tasso+ device collects a small EDTA whole-blood sample from your
upper arm. No conventional blood draw or clinic appointment is required.

Profile: Complete WHL RBC fatty-acid analysis

Key results: Omega-3 Index, EPA, DHA, omega-6/omega-3
ratio and AA/EPA ratio

Collection: Tasso+ device included

Sample: Minimum 100 µL EDTA whole blood

Results: Typically within 3–5 working days after arrival

What Does This Test Measure?

The complete profile measures major fatty acids from the following groups:

  • Omega-3 fatty acids
  • Omega-6 fatty acids
  • Omega-7 and omega-9 fatty acids
  • Saturated fatty acids
  • Monounsaturated fatty acids
  • Polyunsaturated fatty acids

Key Results Explained

Omega-3 Index
Represents the combined EPA and DHA content of red-blood-cell membranes as a
percentage of total measured fatty acids.

EPA – Eicosapentaenoic acid
An omega-3 fatty acid involved in the production of lipid mediators that help
regulate inflammatory and vascular responses.

DHA – Docosahexaenoic acid
A structural omega-3 fatty acid concentrated in neuronal, retinal and other
cellular membranes.

Omega-6/omega-3 ratio
Describes the relative balance between total measured omega-6 and omega-3
fatty acids.

AA/EPA ratio
Compares arachidonic acid with EPA. These fatty acids serve as precursors for
different families of lipid mediators.

Why Use Red-Blood-Cell Fatty Acids?

Plasma fatty acids can change substantially after a recent meal. Fatty acids
incorporated into red-blood-cell membranes reflect dietary intake and metabolism
over the preceding several weeks to months.

RBC analysis is therefore useful for assessing longer-term fatty-acid status and
monitoring the response to dietary changes or omega-3 supplementation.

When Can This Test Be Useful?

  • Low intake of oily fish or other omega-3 sources
  • Monitoring fish-oil or algae-based omega-3 supplementation
  • Cardiometabolic and nutritional assessment
  • Restricted or unbalanced dietary intake
  • Concerns about fatty-acid absorption or metabolism
  • Monitoring a previously low Omega-3 Index

Simple Home Collection

1. Receive your kit
We deliver the complete Tasso+ EDTA collection kit directly to your home.

2. Collect from your upper arm
Place the device on your upper arm and press the button. A small whole-blood
sample is collected automatically.

3. Return your sample
Pack the tube using the supplied protective materials and return it according
to the enclosed instructions.

4. Receive your report
Your complete RBC fatty-acid profile is analyzed by an accredited laboratory.
Results are typically available within 3–5 working days after arrival.

Before Collection

Fasting is not essential for an RBC fatty-acid profile, but an overnight fast
provides the most standardized collection conditions. Water is allowed.

Continue your usual diet and record any fish-oil, krill-oil or algae-based
omega-3 supplements. Do not stop medically recommended supplementation unless
advised by your healthcare professional.

Understanding Your Results

Your report provides individual fatty-acid concentrations or percentages, the
Omega-3 Index, fatty-acid group totals and relevant ratios.

The omega-6/omega-3 and AA/EPA ratios provide context but should not be interpreted
as direct measures of inflammation. Individual fatty acids, dietary pattern,
supplementation and clinical history should be considered together.

Because RBC fatty acids change gradually, repeat testing is generally most
informative after approximately three months of consistent dietary or supplement
intervention.

Complete fatty-acid balance and Omega-3 Index from one home collection.
