Male Tumor Marker Monitoring From Home

Measure total PSA, free PSA, AFP, CEA and CA 19-9
using one convenient home blood collection.

This profile is intended for clinician-guided monitoring, investigation
of previously abnormal findings or follow-up of a known condition.

What Is Measured?

Total and Free PSA
Assess prostate-specific antigen and its unbound fraction. The calculated
free-to-total PSA ratio can provide additional context when total PSA is raised.

AFP
Used mainly in clinician-guided assessment and monitoring of liver and
germ-cell conditions. Liver disease can also increase AFP.

CEA
Used particularly for serial monitoring of colorectal and some other
malignancies. Smoking and benign inflammatory conditions may influence CEA.

CA 19-9
Used mainly in pancreatic, biliary and gastrointestinal follow-up.
Cholestasis and other benign conditions may also increase CA 19-9.

Before Collection

Fasting is not required. For 48 hours before collecting your sample,
avoid ejaculation, vigorous exercise and cycling because these may
temporarily increase PSA.

A urinary infection, prostatitis, urinary retention or a recent prostate
procedure can affect PSA. Follow your practitioner’s advice regarding
the appropriate timing of testing.
