Our Services to Physicians

Working together in achieving the same goal!

Docters, nutritional specialist, health coaches, trainers, universities, researchers, food or supplement manufacturers are regular customers of the services we offer. Your patient or client is also our focus point. When food is of the essence to our health, than determining the degree of nurtritional value for a patient that is under your care, is vital to any therapy.

WHLBunnik the Netherlands and HDRI  South Amboy in the US, form together World Health Laboratories (WHL),  our laboratories are specialized in testing for the essential nutrients and their absorption in the body, as well as the toxicity of nutrients through over supplementation and poisening by heavy metals.

Our carefully designed test panels give us insight in how the nutrients that we eat, are absorbed by the body, as well as performing tests that can tell wether a diet or therapy is actually showing results.  WHL can test for nutrient or toxicity status in blood, urine, hair, and feces. We can also test for nutrient status in foods and supplements. Thus making sure that raw materials that are used in supplements or as food additives actually deliver what is promised.

Blood testing

Testing the vitamin and mineral status of your blood, plasma and intercellular is the foundation of our laboratory work for moren than 30 years. A shortage of one or more (trace) elements or vitamins will lead to less proper body functions. Even a marginal shortage will, depending on the severity and duration, lead to complaints directly or after a longer period of time.

(Trace) elements are crucial parts of many kinds of biochemical conversions in the body, such as co-factors in enzyme reactions.  WHL can test for almost all minerals stored in the body.

Vitamins fulfill important functions in the formation of energy from carbohydrates (B-vitamins), the formation of connective tissue (vitamin C) and the protection against harmful oxygen compounds (vitamin C and vitamin E).

Essential fatty acids (including trans fatty acids)
The (essential) fatty acids are an important component of cell membranes and they are the precursors of eicosanoids (prostaglandins, thromboxanes, prostacyclines and leukotrienes). The eicosanoids perform important (regulatory) functions in a large number of metabolic processes, including allergic reactions, blood clotting and inflammatory reactions. Because the eicosanoids formed from the (essential) fatty acids have different, often opposite, effects, not only shortages of, but also disturbances in the ratio(s) of the fatty acids can lead to disruption of body functions.

Urine testing

Testing the urine gives even deeper insight into the body functions. We use 24-hour urine for the analysis. The 24-hour urine analysis has the advantage over analysis in blood that an average value over the day is obtained instead of a snapshot. Also in urine (because of the higher concentrations) more amino acids can be determined than in blood; about 40 amino acids against 21 in blood. We offer two test:

Amino acids fulfill important functions in the body. They are the building blocks of the body's proteins and they are essential for, among other things, good detoxification and the formation of neurotransmitters, enzymes and antibodies. WHL offers a comprehensive package with amino acid determinations in urine.

This package tests for all 8 essential amino acids (isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan and valine), the semi-essential amino acids arginine, cysteine, histidine and taurine and 28 other amino acids / amino acid metabolites, including homocysteine. More info on this test

Organic acids the test provides information about metabolites of neurotransmitters, amino acids, fatty acids, the energy production (Lemon cycle) and the functioning of certain vitamins and minerals. In addition, toxic substances and pathogens can be measured, such as candida and clostridia. More info on this test

Metabolic expression

Many of our tests give insight in the expression of the metabolic. And with that, it can be determined with greater certainty, for example, how and if methylation processes are disrupted.

Methylation is a chemical process in which methyl groups are formed and transferred and donated between many different molecules which change their structure and function. This happens billions of times per second in every cell of the body. They act like switches which turn genes on or off, help the liver detoxify from hormones, regulate mood,  produce energy, and promote healthy aging.

Nutrients from the food, like vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, are needed to keep this process running smoothly. There are also genetic factors and oxidative stressors which can affect how well this pathway works.2

Why test for Methylation?
Methylation is needed to create DNA and RNA and regulate gene expression. It helps make creatine, which is needed for skeletal muscle contraction. Methylation is involved in basic energy production, fat metabolism, immune responses, vascular health, and cell membrane repair. It produces and metabolizes neurotransmitters to regulate mood. Methylation also works to neutralize toxins and hormones.

WHL offers two test panels:
Methylation panel: Glutathion (oxidized), glutathion (reduced), S-adenosyl-methionine (RBC), S-adenosylhomocysteine (RBC), tetrahydrofolate (THF), 5-methyl-THF, 10-formyl-THF, 5-formyl-THF, folic acid, folinic acid, folic acid (RBC) and adenosine.
Methylering panel PLUS : Methylation panel + Cystathione, Cysteïn, homocysteïn, Methionin, Taurin.

White Label supplements

Our years of experience with nutrient research has led us to apply our knowledge and experience to the development of specific supplements. That we brand under the name of Vital Cell Life Supplements

In the past years this activity has become completely independent in our subsidiary World Health Supplements. Where we also produce supplements for third parties under white label.
Would you like to discuss the possibilities of developing your own supplements, contact our colleagues at World Health Supplements to assist you further.

WHL and WHS work closely together to ensure the quality of these supplements. Which means that batches of supplements are subject to strict supervision of the controls carried out by WHL.

Steps when ordering a test

World Health Laboratories is a partnership of two independent private laboratories in the Netherlands (WHLBunnik) and in the USA (HDRI).

Tests  can be ordered through the WHL order form (Dutch) or the HDRI LABtest Request  form (English) depending on your location.

Fill in the Request form

Download the Lab Request form
Fill in the required patient information and your  contact data as the requesting physician.

Have your patient informed in advance at his / her health insurance company about the possibilities and conditions for reimbursement!

Choose a test or panel

Select from a wide variety of  panels to save your patient costs or select your own specific set of tests from the specialist section.
This form states what test kit material is needed behind each test.

Standard an administrative fee is charged per form that is send in.

Sample Kit

For the blood collection, patients can go to the WHL on the blood collection times mentioned on the form or at one of our blood collection office.
Test kits can be requested by the doctor / practioner by telephone, by fax or via the test material application form and, if necessary, sent directly to the patient.

Collecting the sample

After blood is drawn, the test samples should be send together with the  filled in Lab Request form to our facilities.

The test results are sent to the doctor / practioner.
Turnaround times vary , but are usually between 2-4 weeks.
Correspondence about the results is only possible by the doctor / practioner
