COVID-19

COVID-19,PCR, Ag, IgM and IgG rapid test

COVID-19-Ag:

WHL uses the corona rapid tests COVID-19 Ag approved by the Dutch government.
Antigen Rapid Swab Test provides quick results to show if someone is a carrier of the COVID-19 virus.
The nasal swab gives results within 30 minutes (read after 15 minutes).
The COVID-19 Swab Test is an antigen test that shows whether antigens are present in relation to an active COVID-19 infection. The test is designed to find proteins that cause COVID-19 through a nasal swab. The test is easy to perform and provides accurate information whether someone is actively infected with the COVID-19 virus.
The nasal swab test is easy to perform and gives accurate results in less than 30 minutes. This means that one knows almost immediately whether someone is infected with COVID-19. You can wait for the result.

Unlike the antibody test, the antigen swab test shows whether someone is actively infected with the COVID-19 virus. This makes the antigen test particularly useful for quick testing in connection with, for example, returning to work.
This test may give a negative result that is not correct (false negative). However, this is unlikely. The sensitivity for this test is 93.3% (98.2% for samples with Ct values = <33) and the specificity is 99.4%.
The most common cause for a false negative test is testing too early after exposure. We recommend that patients wait at least 24 hours after exposure or development of symptoms before testing. False positive results are unlikely.

The antibody test is easy to perform with the finger prick test and gives accurate results in less than 20 minutes. This means that you immediately know whether someone is / has been infected with COVID-19. You can wait for the result.
The sensitivity of the IgM antibody test is 85%, the specificity 98.39% with a total accuracy of 95.12%. For the IgG antibodies the sensitivity is 91.89% and the specificity is 97.78% (total accuracy 95.12%).
