Modern Environmental Exposure Insight – PFAS + Bisphenols + Phthalates

€ 399,00

A combined blood and urine assessment of persistent and more recent exposure to widely used environmental chemicals. The panel measures 27 PFAS compounds in serum alongside urinary BPA, BPF, BPS and markers of common phthalate plasticisers.

Modern Environmental Exposure Insight

PFAS in Blood + Bisphenols + Phthalates

Why combine these tests?

Environmental chemicals differ substantially in how long they remain in the body. PFAS are persistent and may accumulate over time, whereas bisphenols and phthalates are generally cleared more rapidly and urinary measurements are more influenced by recent exposure. Testing both categories provides a broader and more clinically meaningful exposure picture than either blood or urine testing alone.

Test 1 · Serum

PFAS in Blood

Quantifies 27 per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances in serum using LC-MS/MS, supporting assessment of current PFAS body burden and cumulative exposure to persistent compounds.

Test 2 · Spot Urine

Bisphenols Profile

Measures BPA and the common replacement compounds BPF and BPS. Results are creatinine-corrected and may reflect exposure from plastics, food-contact materials and other consumer products.

Test 3 · Spot Urine

Phthalates

Assesses urinary markers of common phthalate plasticisers associated with soft plastics, PVC, food packaging, personal-care products, vinyl materials and indoor dust.

What the combined panel can help clarify

Persistent exposure: serum PFAS provides information about compounds that can remain in the body for prolonged periods.

More recent plastics-related exposure: urinary bisphenol and phthalate markers add a shorter-term exposure perspective.

Replacement bisphenols: the profile includes BPF and BPS in addition to BPA, avoiding an assessment limited only to the best-known compound.

Possible exposure priorities: results may support a structured review of drinking water, food packaging, cookware, personal-care products, occupation and indoor materials.

Follow-up monitoring: repeat testing may help evaluate trends after an appropriate interval when exposure-reduction measures have been introduced.

Common exposure contexts

PFAS
Contaminated water, firefighting foams, grease-resistant packaging, stain-resistant treatments and some industrial settings
Bisphenols
Food-can linings, food-contact plastics, thermal receipts, bottles, containers and kitchenware
Phthalates
Soft PVC, flooring, fragrances, personal-care products, medical tubing, packaging and indoor dust

Who may consider this panel?

  • Known or suspected occupational exposure
  • Residence near a documented contamination source
  • Frequent contact with plastics or treated materials
  • Environmental-health or exposure-reduction monitoring
  • Fertility or hormonal assessment where exposure history is relevant
  • Individuals seeking a broader modern-chemical exposure profile

Sample requirements

PFAS: serum obtained from a blood sample. The standard product price does not include an optional Tasso home-collection device.

Bisphenols and phthalates: spot urine, with first-morning collection preferred and results corrected for creatinine.

Collection materials: use only the WHL-supplied blood and urine materials and follow the handling and return instructions.

Before collection

✓ Use only the supplied collection containers to minimise external contamination.

✓ Choose a representative collection day unless WHL or your healthcare professional advises otherwise.

✓ Record relevant occupational, household, dietary and water-exposure information.

✓ Follow the exact urine timing, labelling, storage and return instructions supplied with the kit.

Important: Short-lived urinary markers can vary from day to day. A single spot-urine result should be interpreted as one defined sampling point rather than a complete history of past exposure.

Clinical note: This panel supports environmental-exposure assessment and biomonitoring. It does not identify the precise source or timing of exposure, prove that a measured compound caused symptoms, predict future disease or establish a medical diagnosis. Results should be interpreted with exposure history, occupation, lifestyle and other relevant clinical findings. There is no universally established medical treatment for rapidly eliminating PFAS; reducing ongoing exposure remains central.
