Go Beyond a Standard Cholesterol Test

Measure cholesterol levels, atherogenic lipoprotein particles, inherited
Lp(a)-related risk and systemic inflammation with one advanced blood test.

The included Tasso+ device collects a small blood sample from your upper arm.
No finger prick, conventional blood draw or clinic appointment is required.

Seven markers: Total cholesterol, HDL-C, direct LDL-C,
triglycerides, ApoB, Lp(a) and hs-CRP

Calculated: Non-HDL cholesterol and lipid ratios

Collection: Tasso+ device included

Sample: Minimum 180 µL serum

Results: Typically within 1–3 working days after arrival

What Does This Test Measure?

Total cholesterol
Measures the cholesterol carried by all circulating lipoprotein classes.

HDL cholesterol – HDL-C
Measures cholesterol transported within high-density lipoproteins. It should
be interpreted as part of the complete lipid pattern rather than in isolation.

Direct LDL cholesterol – LDL-C
Directly measures cholesterol carried within LDL particles instead of estimating
it from the other lipid results.

Non-HDL cholesterol

It represents cholesterol carried by all potentially atherogenic
lipoproteins.

Triglycerides
Reflect circulating triglyceride-rich lipoproteins and are influenced by diet,
insulin sensitivity, alcohol intake and metabolic health.

Apolipoprotein B – ApoB
Each major atherogenic particle carries one ApoB molecule. ApoB therefore provides
an estimate of the total number of atherogenic lipoprotein particles.

Lipoprotein(a) – Lp(a)
A largely genetically determined lipoprotein associated with cardiovascular and
aortic-valve risk. Lp(a) may be elevated even when standard cholesterol results
appear acceptable.

High-sensitivity CRP – hs-CRP
A sensitive marker of systemic inflammation that can add context to cardiovascular
risk when measured outside an acute infection or injury.

Why Include ApoB and Lp(a)?

LDL-C measures the amount of cholesterol carried within LDL particles, while ApoB
estimates the number of atherogenic particles. These values may become discordant
when particles contain more or less cholesterol than expected.

Lp(a) identifies a separate, predominantly inherited source of cardiovascular risk
that is not detected reliably by a conventional lipid profile.

Relevant lipid ratios are also calculated to provide additional context, although
treatment decisions should not be based on ratios alone.

When Can This Test Be Useful?

  • A personal or family history of cardiovascular disease
  • High or borderline cholesterol
  • Diabetes, insulin resistance or metabolic syndrome
  • A family history of elevated Lp(a)
  • Monitoring dietary, lifestyle or prescribed treatment
  • Preventive cardiovascular risk assessment

Simple Home Collection

1. Receive your kit
We deliver the complete Tasso+ collection kit directly to your home.

2. Collect from your upper arm
Place the device on your upper arm and press the button. A small blood sample
is collected automatically.

3. Return your sample
Pack the tube using the supplied protective materials and return it according
to the enclosed instructions.

4. Receive your report
Your markers are analyzed by an accredited laboratory. Results are typically
available within 1–3 working days after your sample arrives.

Before Collection

Fast for 8–12 hours before collection for the most consistent triglyceride and
calculated-ratio results. Water is allowed.

Collect your sample in the morning and avoid alcohol and unusually strenuous
exercise for 24 hours beforehand. Continue prescribed medication unless your
doctor advises otherwise.

If you have an active infection, fever or recent injury, hs-CRP may be temporarily
increased. Consider collecting after recovery when the aim is cardiovascular
risk assessment.

Understanding Your Results

Your report provides all seven biomarkers, non-HDL cholesterol, relevant lipid
ratios, measurement units and laboratory reference intervals.

Lp(a) is predominantly genetically determined and usually remains relatively
stable. It often only needs to be measured once unless treatment or a specific
clinical situation requires follow-up.

Cardiovascular risk also depends on age, blood pressure, smoking, glucose
regulation, kidney function, family history and existing medical conditions.
This panel does not diagnose or exclude cardiovascular disease by itself.

Advanced cholesterol, particle and inherited-risk assessment from home.
